Environmental regulatory agencies have a renewed focus on the proper disposal of pharmaceutical waste from hospitals to retailers. And, recent scientific studies on the effect that pharmaceutical products have on our environment have become a top concern for consumers.
EQ offers management solutions of all pharmaceutical wastes for our customers. This is done through a mail-back and/or pick-up program that is compliant, cost effective and helps meet your sustainability goals.
EQ has the unique ability to manage your non-hazardous, hazardous and U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Schedule II-V Controlled Substance pharmaceutical waste streams. EQ's Detroit facility is one of the few RCRA permitted DEA registered reverse distribution pharmaceutical waste handlers in the industry.
Non-hazardous and hazardous pharmaceutical waste disposal can easily be managed through a Segregated Waste Program offered by EQ. Containers of pharmaceutical waste can be picked up at the same time that general hazardous material waste is picked up. EQ can classify pharmaceutical waste utilizing our expertise and technology in the same way as hazardous material waste classification.
DEA Schedule II-V Controlled Substance waste can simply be managed through our EQ Sustainable Solutions Pack Back Program as well as a pick-up program, in full compliance with regulatory requirements. EQ Pack Back boxes can be shipped through common carrier to the customer location for DEA Schedule II-V Controlled Substance waste collection. When full and proper documentation is completed, the Pack Back box will be shipped back to our DEA registered facility for proper handling and disposal. And, because of our unique RCRA permitted Reverse Distribution capability, EQ can properly manage DEA Schedule II-V Controlled Substance waste that is also hazardous. A pick-up program by EQ truck can be implemented for these RCRA hazardous waste DEA Schedule II-V Controlled Substances.
Most importantly, this entire program is done in full compliance with documenting, shipping, handling and tracking federal and state regulatory requirements.
