Dynatec is a full service wastewater treatment firm specializing in projects using membrane filtration. EQ and Dynatec have worked together to provide airports with an effective Glycol recovery / management program. By examining the incoming fluid and the local discharge requirements, Dynatec and EQ provide a complete service to manage and recover the spent deicing fluid reliably and economically.

The solutions provided by Dynatec and EQ use a variety of technologies with multi-stage membrane filtration as the primary treatment option. The systems use a combination of Ultra-filtration and Reverse Osmosis. The influent glycol concentration is typically in the range of one to four percent and the systems can return a concentrated fluid that contains upwards of twenty percent glycol. By using multi-stage systems, the system can be designed to meet the required effluent qualities of the project. In applications where the influent concentration is less than one percent or where the discharge limits have very low COD requirements, a biological system can be coupled with the membrane system to meet these requirements.

Membrane filtration provides great flexibility in the scalability of the system. As the volume of glycol to be recovered changes between different projects, the concept of the system design stays consistent. Simply adding or removing modules from each skid within the system design can vary the amount of glycol to be recovered. The system is typically sized to accept the average storm water rates. Dynatec and EQ design engineers work to restrict the amount of space required by the system, but it is dependent upon the amount of glycol to be recovered. The energy required by the system is typically four to six horsepower per 1,000 gallons of glycol to be recovered.
